25 Sites Will Be Custom Built and Given Away to Eligible Austin Restaurants, Bars, Clubs, Coffee Shops, Food Trucks, and More
02.14.2011– In less than four weeks, tens of thousands of out-of-towners will be visiting Austin, Texas, for the wildly popular music, film and interactive conferences. Many, if not most, of these visitors will be bringing web-enabled smartphones. Small business owners in Austin can now prepare themselves for the barrage of mobilized customers by setting up a free mobile website on MobileMeteor.com
The Brooklyn-based company is offering it's service free of charge for three months to the first 25 businesses that sign up. After that time, there is no obligation to buy.
"It was a no brainer," said Mehul Patel, owner of Dominican Joe Coffee Shop, which went live on Mobile Meteor in time for SXSW 2010. "We were able to get our critical information optimized for mobile users, upload some great photos to show the place off, and include our Twitter feed."
During SXSW 2010, Mobile Meteor customers experienced a 200%-300% increase in mobile website hits. Mobile Meteor includes more features than it did last year, so even existing customers can give their mobile visitors a better experience.
"Since last year, we've released integration with Foursquare, Facebook SeamlessWeb and more," said Denis Hurley, founder of Mobile Meteor. "We've also included a feedback and polling feature, so businesses can get direct feedback from customers or put things up for a vote."
In order to be eligible for this offer, a business must be within Austin city limits and have an existing website. More information is available on Mobile Meteor's site.
